When the sunset casts a calm glow over the countryside, don't be surprised to see a Bald Eagle break from it's circling pattern overhead and swoop down across our ponds to snatch a tasty fish for dinner!
This is the type of quiet country location in which the Eagle's Lookout is located. Just minutes from Cooperstown and The Dreams Park, yet so private and undeveloped that one of the most sensitive predators, the Bald Eagle, calls this area home!
Experience all that our 50 acres of lush property has to offer...wide open, dramatic valley views, mountain vistas, unimaginably beautiful sunsets, thickly wooded areas, ponds for kayaking and fishing and exploring, hiking, wildlife and bird viewing, walking trails, and more! Woods, meadows, streams… kids love exploring this land!
The home features a main floor plan ideal for family vacationing...a soaring great room (with gas pot belly stove) that is open to a dining area and an outstanding kitchen with breakfast bar with seating for 4. A sitting room filled with sunlight is off of the kitchen and is the perfect spot for morning coffee or evening drinks as the sun sets over the distant valley (the couch opens into a sleeper sofa). A full bathroom services the main floor.
The very large master bedroom with private full bathroom, featuring a jetted soaking tub, is conveniently located on the main floor and the French doors open onto a private, covered deck).
A large porch and deck add wonderful entertainment options to the main floor providing great spaces for exterior gatherings.
Up the exposed staircase to the second floor are two queen bedrooms (both with outstanding views) and really cool loft space with flat screen... perfect for the kids. A full bathroom is located here as well.
A second private stairway leads to the "lock-out" (available at additional cost during the non-summer season), a large and very cool space with accommodations for 4 guests. The room is super private, 40 feet long, cathedral ceiling, 6 operable sky lights with screens, 72" flat screen TV, seating area. French doors open to a large covered deck with awesome views and sunsets. This space is not air conditioned.
The attached 2 car garage has been converted into a game room with foosball table, arts and crafts table table and ping pong table!
Eagles Lookout is the ideal country hideaway; convenient to the area's attractions including Cooperstown and the ball fields, and yet privately located to ensure a quiet and relaxing country ambiance. The home is spacious and well equipped with everything you need from cooking gear to laundry detergent. There was plenty of room for everyone. The property itself is private and set on a hill with wonderful panoramic views of the surrounding area, two ponds and a stream flow through the property. A great place to get away and convenient to Cooperstown (10) minutes and only thirty minutes to Oneonta. Included a very useful and thoughtful welcome package at check-in. Great stay.
Hi Jim, Thank you kindly for taking the time to provide your review of Eagles Lookout. We're especially glad you enjoyed the private setting and the views. We love to watch the sunsets across the valley and the deer grazing in the fields during dinner time:) Please consider a return visit as Preferred Guests...perhaps during the summer when the pond can be put to good use! Liz and Bill
We enjoyed everything about this wonderful vacation rental on our family getaway. Bill and Liz were fantastic to deal with throughout every step of the rental. The house itself was in pristine condition and had so many essentials already there that made for great accommodations. While we spent a lot of time exploring the Cooperstown/Hartwick area, we always ended up back at the house because of how much fun it was. I would recommend this vacation rental to anyone and everyone I know and we already can’t wait to plan our next trip!
Thank you for your review of Eagles Lookout, Rachel and Kevin. Liz and I are especially glad you enjoyed your Cooperstown visit and your stay at the cabin. You and your family are welcome back any time! All the best, Liz and Bill
Had a fantastic stay in Hartwick for Memorial Day weekend. Arrived with several friends for the weekend and couldn’t be more thrilled with our stay. The home and property are as advertised and even better in person. Cooperstown was only a short 15 minute scenic drive away. There’s also a grocery store right down the road for everything you might need during your stay if you were to forget something. Would recommend this place with confidence to anyone interested. Everything was clean and prepared for us and Bill was available when needed. Would like to say thank you very much for having us. The pond is stocked! Tim
Hi Tim and thank you for being great guests. And thanks for giving the rainbow trout in the pond some exercise! We hope you'll return as Preferred Guests and enjoy all that our region offers. Be well, Liz and Bill
We came here with a group of 12 guys for our buddy's bachelor's party. He wanted to find a place to relax, spend time with his closest friends and visit the Baseball Hall of Fame. The Eagle's Lookout was the perfect place for our group. The house had a nice layout, it was comfortable and conveniently located just 10-15 minutes away from Cooperstown. Bill was also a pleasure to work with and communication with him was seamless. We will definitely stay here again if we find ourselves back in Cooperstown.
We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. You and all of your friends were a pleasure to deal with and Liz and I are both happy you enjoyed your visit to Cooperstown and your stay at Eagles Lookout. All the best, Bill
Really nothing to complain about here! We arrived to a beautiful warm, wood cabin-style home, with a nice layout for large groups, awesome winter views (snow storms approaching in distance) and best of all a great hill for sledding in the backyard. Kids loved it! Home is all wood and done right, nothing cheap here. Radiant heat left no cold spots anywhere, not even the garage where the games room is. Have to emphasize warmth of the house because we were there during the Arctic blast that covered most of the country. Temps were -8F for the highs! Our group was 2 families of 8, and although we opted for the "Lockout Room", it wasn't really necessary. The house is still large without the Lockout Room. Bill was quick to respond to any of our questions. Ping Pong supplies need a bit of replenishing, but I'm sure Bill will be on it before the next rental! The town and Food shopping is an easy 10 minutes away, even with the snow. Have to mention, Bill was nice enough to allow us a "late checkout" being that our exit date fell on New Years Day, at no extra charge! Thanks again Bill! This house was perfect for our Winter Getaway from NYC. I highly recommend for groups and families!
Happy New Year again! Frank, thank you for taking the time to provide your review of Eagles Lookout. It was indeed the coldest weather we’ve had for the past couple of years and we’re glad some of your group were brave enough to ride the sledding hill! Thank you for being terrific guests and we hope you’ll visit again as Preferred Guests! All the best, Liz and Bill
Eagles Lookout offers some of the most spectacular views around. We loved staying in what the kids called the "Lincoln Log" cabin. The kids enjoyed the amenities and took full advantage of the playroom in the garage, kayaks, and spent hours fishing and exploring. We had a few minor maintenance issues, and within hours Bill sent a handyman to address the issues. What wonderful service! If you are looking for a private cabin in the woods, this place is for you! We will treasure our memories and time spent at Eagles Lookout!
Hi Ed and Family, Thank you for your kind words about our home and our service:) How great to be a youngster and have your own private fishing pond! Thanks for being great guests and we hope to welcome you back in the near future. Liz and Bill
The location of this home is perfect for Cooperstown baseball and just about any other activity. It is an easy 4-5 mile drive to down town and to Dreams Park. The house was also only a 5 mile drive to Ommegang Brewery. The rooms were spacious and the beds comfortable. Each room had a great view. The house was equipped with everything we needed utensil wise. The Ping Pong and Foosball table saw plenty of action. The views were awesome and deer and other animals were often seen in the morning and at sunset. The fishing pond also produced Rainbow Trout, Largemouth Bass and Blue Gills. The kayaks were thoroughly used as well even though you can walk around the pond. I do highly recommend this rental.
Hey Ryan, Thank you for your kind words. Glad to hear you had success at the pond:) We hope to welcome you and your friends back to Cooperstown as Preferred Guests! Kind regards, Liz and Bill
We were visiting for the Cooperstown Dreams Park tournament. It's a great location between the park and the town of Cooperstown. The kids loved the space as did the adults! House was well kept and clean. The washer/dryer were also very helpful!! Owners were very responsive to our inquiries and gave us plenty of material ahead of time to make sure we were informed. We would highly recommend this rental.
So happy you enjoyed your stay, Dawn. Eagles Lookout is a perfect mix of "country-quiet" and "location-convenience"...far enough away from the crowds to provide vacation ambiance, yet close enough for the numerous trips to the ball fields and village. We hope you'll visit us again! Bill
Bill!! We had such a blast at your home!!! The twins were in the pond every day!! It was a perfect get away from the park when we needed it and we found out from other families that our rental was one of the best!!! We will be back when the twins come to Cooperstown Dreams Park and we would love to stay on this property again!! It was PERFECT for our stay! We also appreciated all of the updates and suggestions and snuck in the places if/when we could:) Thanks again!! Pam
Thanks for taking the time to share your "perfect" experience, Pam! We're always thrilled when our guests enjoy their Cooperstown visit and their stay at our homes! And we'll be counting down the time till the twins turn "Dreams Park age" and we can welcome you back as Preferred Guests!! All the best, Liz and Bill.
I don't normally take time to leave reviews but I felt Eagles lookout as well as Bill Miller truly deserved a great one. Everything about our stay was perfect beginning to end. The house was gorgeous, clean, well prepared for our stay and just beautiful in every way. Bill was helpful, responsive, easy to deal with and prompt with responses for any questions or concerns we had. I definitely plan on staying here next time I head up towards Cooperstown and I would recommend this place wholeheartedly to anyone trying to decide on a place to stay. Thanks Bill!!!
William, such a wonderful review. We appreciate all feedback and we use any critiques we receive as a method to improve our offering and service. For just this moment, based on this glowing review and comment, we'll do a quick little dance, spike the ball, and get back to work! Thank you again! Liz and Bill
Great experience all around - from the scenic views to the comfy beds - would recommend Eagle's Lookout to anyone looking for house in the Cooperstown area.
David, we appreciate your kind words and we hope we have the chance to welcome you back as a Preferred Guest! Bill
Eagles Lookout has been where my family and I have traveled all the way from Florida to spend Christmas for the past two years and I must say, they have been the BEST Christmas' thus far. Bill is very attentive and always just a phone call away if we ever had any questions. In the winter time, the 52 acres covered in snow looks magical! If you have kids, they will just LOVE it! Awesome view, Awesome space and Awesome experience!!!!!
Hi Melissa, Liz and I are thrilled that you and your family love spending your special Christmas holiday at Eagles Lookout. What a great tradition you've created! Hope to see you next year:) Bill
We had the best time this week!! The house was so beautiful and immaculately clean!! The view is perfect and so beautiful!! I would recommend this to anyone. We had a quick and easy ride to Dreams Park Cooperstown for baseball. Great House! Great Location!
Great review!! Thank you! Bill
We were in Cooperstown for a baseball tournament, and thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Eagle's Nest. There was plenty of room for our family of seven, and the acreage surrounding the property is beautiful. If you like an outdoor setting with privacy, the Eagle's Nest is perfect. We would definitely stay here again.
Visiting the Cooperstown area offers lots of possibilities for entertainment and adventure. Eagles Lookout got its name because of the frequent sighting of several Bald Eagles that nest nearby. From the front or rear porch visitors can be entertained by the grazing deer, the passing of a rafter of turkeys (a group of turkeys), myriad song birds, and the grand arrival of a Bald Eagle. Fish, hike, explore. All without leaving your private sanctuary!
Before we even arrived Bill was so attentive to our needs/requests. We flew in late and he was able to provide us with a personal shopper which was a huge help. The home and property were in great condition. We stayed in the home while our boys played at Cooperstown. Located only 10 minutes away from the Dream Park. All of the guys loved the lake to fish or use the kayaks. I loved the back verandas and enjoyed the spectacular views. I would highly recommend this property.
Located just a few miles from the village of Cooperstown and The Dreams Park Baseball Camp, Eagles Lookout is an ideal place to call home during a visit to central New York. Wild life abounds and the west facing deck is the perfect place to watch the sun set behind the mountains on the far side of the valley. Evening settles in and the sounds of living in the country begin...crickets, tree frogs, owls...the nightly concert has begun.
This was a great home to visit. Great indoor amenities. Tornado Foos (the best brand) , ping pong. Hrs of fun in the finished garage. Property and views were spectacular. Owners were extremely responsive and informative to any questions. I would recommend this home for those looking for a little seclusion in the mountains.
Thanks for your kind words...its always nice to share quality time with quality friends:) We hope to see you back in the future as one of our Preferred Guests!
We left our home on Long Island and drove nearly 4 hours to this destination for our 2016 New Years party. Upon approaching the home we were excited to see this big, beautiful, private and very inviting space. Both the inside and outside are perfect! Pictures do it little justice. Take it from a Contractor by trade. That weekend will be a very memorable one for us. By chance we decided on this wonderful space, and are very thankful for that! Thank you Bill & Liz :) The Weinberg's
So many people from "downstate" never take the time to explore "upstate"! We're so glad you enjoyed your experience in Cooperstown and your stay at Eagles Lookout! And if you liked visiting in the winter, you'd LOVE it in the summer! Happy 2016!
I surprised my husband and brothers with this spectacular cabin for our overnight stay in Cooperstown. They didn't know about the place until we drove up to it. To say they were delighted is an understatement. The setting of Eagle's Lookout on the lake was beautiful and they took hundreds of pictures. The cabin was so nice, so comfortable...we had thought about going out for dinner but they wanted to stay in for the evening and get pizzas from Russo's New York. Mr. Miller, the contact person for the rental, was so helpful and efficient, and the whole experience was terrific. Wish we could have stayed a month!
Arrival at Eagles Overlook is a wonderful experience...down the driveway and past the pond and through the woods to the cabin. And the view beyond the home over the valley isnt bad either! Very happy to know that your group enjoyed their visit! We will warmly welcome you back!!
This is a beautiful and well kept home with spectacular views and awesome landscapes. The ride to Cooperstown was short and very pleasant. We always looked forward to returing home at the end of each day of our stay in the Cooperstown area. We very much appreciated the restaurant and parking advice Bill provided to make our stay enjoyable. Thanks, Bill, for making your home available to us and we highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a serene and beauthiful place to stay in the area.
We are so glad you enjoyed your visit. There are many reasons people come to Cooperstown...baseball, culture, scenery, lake activities...whatever the attraction, we are delighted to offer a quiet and serene home to return to after a busy day.
We truly enjoyed every moment spent at this property! From the amenities, to the spectacular view and quiet surroundings, we would reccommend this location for anyone looking for the perfect place to stay while in the Cooperstown area. We wish we could have stayed longer!
Thanks for your kind words. We are happy to share our home with travelers who appreciate the special location and the wonderful ambiance it provides. From the distant views and sunsets, to the ponds and all the wildlife that call our property home, Eagles Lookout really is a great destination for quiet relaxation, hiking and even bird watching. Looking forward to welcoming you back!
Thank you Bill. We loved the place. Your home is comfortable and spacious. Great views of the valley. Plenty of deer grazing just out back, and plenty of fish in the pond. I think we’ll be back in a couple years with my youngest son playing in a tournament. We will start our home search with one of your places. . . .
Eagles Lookout is a perfect destination in which to enjoy all kinds of nature...certainly a great variety of wildlife to appreciate...from deer, porcupine and beavers, to the very special Bald Eagles that frequent the ponds. But its also a quiet place for relaxation and contemplation, a place where artists and writers can find inspiration. Whatever you are seeking, come and experience it at our country log home.
Very stylish and comfortable home situated on a gorgeous property with ponds, forest trails and a view of the valley.
Paradise for the children who love nature! Exploring the shoreline of the ponds or wandering the trails that loop through the forest and fields...what a great way to spend quality time with the kids!!
We did a guys trip to Cooperstown and the house was perfect. The VRBO photos don't do it justice. It's a terrific place and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again
The "lay of the land" of this special 50 acre parcel provides complete privacy and at the same time... really long views. Ponds, mature woodlands with trails for hiking and cross country skiing, expansive fields and lots of groomed lawn...diversity rules at Eagles Overlook!! Its a kids paradise for exploring "all things nature". And a parents paradise for "all things relaxation"! Come and experience this slice of rural heaven!!
We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home! Big, beautiful property. Fantastic view!
The view is really special...looking out over the valley and the distant mountains; the setting sun only make it more beautiful! If you are patient, and lucky, you may get to see one of the local bald eagles plunge into the lake for dinner!
Thank you Bill. We enjoyed your perfect home and beautiful property. We will definitely recommend you to others. Great location that is close to Dreams Park and Cooperstown yet out in the country with beautiful views.
Eagles Lookout is just starting to be discovered. Recently added to our portfolio, this log home offers guests a real country-setting with very long distant views over the valley with stunning sun sets. The ponds, woodlands and hiking trails provide lots of opportunity for exploring. And of course, the bald eagles can make their appearance at any moment. Space to run and play, and places to sit, relax and contemplate. Book your stay today!
We loved our stay at the Eagle cabin. It was spacious and spotless. The cabin was equipped with everything we needed and the grounds are beautiful! My nephews loved fishing in the well stocked pond (and so did my golden retriever's)!! Serenity all around, views for days and you can practically touch the stars at night. Bill was incredibly thoughtful as our host, we enjoyed a welcome bag/gift and would absolutely stay again. Thank you for one of the best getaways ever.
Kara, This is a such a nice note...thank you! We do hope you'll consider a future visit...you were a true pleasure to host! Bill
