Cooperstown Fun Park
About Cooperstown Fun Park
Although Cooperstown might be most famous for the National Baseball Hall of Fame, the area also offers numerous other entertainment options, and Cooperstown Fun Park is undoubtedly one of the area’s best attractions for families. It might not be the world’s biggest amusement park, but there is still no doubt that you and your children will have a blast at this exciting locale. A favorite of most locals, the park offers bumper boat rides, a 17-car go-kart track and an 18-hole miniature golf course. Visitors can also take part in an exciting game of laser tag, or step into the batting cages to practice their perfect homerun swing. After enjoying all of the action and excitement on offer, you can then retire to the grill and ice cream parlor or head over to the massive arcade to play some video games. Adults can enjoy a beer or wine, and there are also a wide range of grill items, ice cream and other treats for everyone to sample.
Where Is The Park Located?
The park is located just south of downtown Cooperstown at 4850 State Highway 28 and approximately 4 miles from the National Baseball Hall of Fame. If you’re coming from downtown, simply take Chestnut Street south until it turns into Highway 28. Continue on out of town another mile or so, and you will then see the entrance to the park directly off the highway on your left side.
When Is The Park Open?
Due to the weather, the park is only open during the summer from June to the end of August. Nonetheless, the exact opening and closing dates vary from year to year, and the park often opens a few days earlier or closes a few days later if the weather permits it. During these months, the park is usually open seven days a week from 10 am to 10 pm. However, the park does sometimes close during inclement weather, so it is always best to call ahead to verify the opening hours. The fact that the park is only open during the warm, sunny summer months means that you are virtually guaranteed to experience good weather on your visit to the park. In fact, many locals flock to the location on warm days to splash around on the bumper boats or enjoy a deliciously cold milkshake, sundae or float.
How Much Should We Expect to Pay?
Entrance to the park grounds is free, and there is also complementary car, bus and RV parking available onsite for all customers. Nonetheless, you will have to pay individually for all activities. The park’s 18-hole miniature golf course costs $7 per round for adults and $2 per round for kids 5 years of age and younger. To ride the bumper boats or go-karts or to play a game of laser tag, you’ll need to purchase event tickets. Each activity requires one event ticket per person, and each event ticket costs $7 as of the time of writing. You can also save $5 by purchasing a Super Fun Card, which gives you a total of 5 event tickets for only $30. In this case, your five tickets can also be used to pay for adult rounds of mini golf. As well, the Super Fun Card can be used to pay for batting cage rounds, in which case each ticket is equal to two batting cage tokens. For those who are only interested in the batting cages, you can purchase tokens for $3.75 each. Each token lets you face 16 pitches in the cage, and you get progressively larger discounts when you purchase more tokens at one time.
Park Rules and Regulations
Proper footwear and shirts are required in the park at all times, and visitors are not allowed to bring pets or glass bottles on the premises. It is also important to note that the park has strict height restrictions in place on both the bumper boats and go-karts. Nonetheless, children and other visitors that do not meet these height requirements may still be allowed to ride in the vehicle as a passenger. If you think you will visit the park more than once while staying at your Cooperstown vacation rental, you will definitely want to consider buying a Super Fun Card for the added savings. However, these cards expire at the end of each season, so make sure you use all of your tickets before your trip finishes.
