Loved staying on Lake Otsego. We were in town for the Cooperstown Dream Park tournament and wanted to stay at a house where we could relax and hang out between games. We shared the house with another family. There was plenty of room. All the kids loved playing in the lake and jumping on the trampoline. House is the perfect location to watch the sunset through the trees and over the lake. It was a great get away and allowed those not playing in the tournament to get a break and relax. Owners service was great and he made sure we got what we needed to have the perfect stay. One note, there is no cell service around parts of the lake. We used wifi and house phone. Worked out well but it was a bit challenging for my husband to work out of the house.
We loved our stay at Lakepointe--great beach and water trampoline for the kids. The kitchen, dining, and living areas are open-concept so that even those of us working in the kitchen could enjoy the conversation, the lake views, and stayed engaged. The bathrooms are clean and newly renovated. We shared this house with three other couples and found it very comfortable. Great week! Lots of fun at the house, on the lake, and at Cooperstown Dreams Park 12U baseball tournament. We all want to come back next year and just enjoy the area and the house without having to be on a baseball tournament schedule! The pictures don't do this home justice. It is much larger, open, and airy with nice updates in the kitchen and bathrooms than the photos show. Other families on our son's baseball team stayed at larger, newer homes on the lake. We all agreed that this home had the best beach, dock/sitting area/ lakefront by far. The porches and open concept common area also won us over and some of our day guests agreed it was a much better use of space than the newer homes they chose.
This property provided a clean and comfortable get away for our group. We made use of the fireplace on a chilly night and enjoyed access to the lake with the provided kayaks. There were three nice size bathrooms and a great washer and dryer! The view of the lake was the perfect setting for a cup of coffee.
We came to Cooperstown for my son's 12th birthday... obviously to immerse him in everything related to baseball. When planning this trip, I discovered Cooperstown Luxury online. Mr. William Miller was quite the facilitator and host!! I can't say enough about the experience, but all of us were stunned by the Lakepointe Property and Ostega Lake. The home is very comfortable and welcoming, and the view is out of this world. There is also a personal little beach on the property that included a fire pit, kayaks and canoe. If we weren't at the Basebell Hall of Fame, we were on the beautiful lake. We ended the nights with a perfect fire and smores. I don't think I can say enough about how great our stay was. I highly recommend it to anyone. Whether you are curious about Cooperstown for the baseball history, or you just want a relaxing weekend in the beautiful outdoors... this is definitely the place to stay!
We stayed at the house for a Cooperstown baseball tournament. It is a perfect location for those playing at Dreams Park. It was great place to stay to unwind from many games but close enough to Cooperstown to enjoy all that it has to offer. The lake was beautiful. Our non baseball kids enjoyed the kayaks and trampolines. The house was very clean and the three bathroom were a plus. I would have given it five stars but the internet is not very good. At this price point, it should be better. If we did not have a personal hotspots, we would have been in trouble for those that still have to work.
We stayed at LakePointe with our family while are son played baseball down the road. It was the perfect escape after long, hot days of multiple baseball games. The house is quiet, private and peaceful. We especially loved spending time on the lake swimming, kayaking and jumping on the trampoline. The fire pit on the lake shore was extra special and made for perfect evenings. Our younger son will probably play in Cooperstown in a couple of years and we will be back!
Our family vacation was amazing. During our childhood, we camped adjacent to this property. It was like going home. Now we have grown children and it was so awesome to share this experience with them. We rented a speed boat for the week with CJ's Boat Rentals and used it every day. So it was great to have a dock. The lake shore area was perfect, complete with a fire pit, a canoe and kayaks. We even had a family of ducks visit us every day. The house was the perfect size for 9 people. The only recommendations would be to purchase new cookware and have several serving bowls. Also the WiFi service needs to be upgraded.
Several college sorority sisters from 40+ years ago had a get together here, and we could not have asked for a more perfect setting to catch up, laugh, relax and enjoy a BEAUTIFUL view. From the large living/dining area, rocking on the deck or sitting at the picnic table in the screened porch, or relaxing in the sun on the floating dock, it was perfect. The bedrooms were spacious, and the 3 full baths made life much easier! The property is immaculate and user friendly. Loved it!
We took our daughter's family including 4 grandsons ages 2-9 for a week at Lake Pointe and had a wonderful time. There was so much to do right on the property we hardly left. Daytimes it was swimming, kayaking, canoeing and jumping on the trampoline raft, followed by nighttime campfires on the beach. The beach access was shallow enough the 2 year old could walk in and there was a boat dock for jumping off or tying up a boat rental. Glimmerglass State Park is right around the cove with a big sandy beach and ball fields. The 3 newly renovated bathrooms were also a plus. Great spot for a lake vacation.
I had mixed feelings about this rental. There was a surveillance camera at the back of the house. When questioned about it, the property manager said that the owner used the camera to monitor his boat. To me, it looked like the camera would have a better view of guests walking up from the beach than of the boat. The property manager says the camera has been removed, but I was left with a creepy vibe. There were a few other negatives too. The house is at the end of a long dirt driveway that has potholes and a steep dropoff on one side. Many of the dishes and utensils in the kitchen were not clean. Also, it seemed that the wifi could only accommodate one device at the time. On the other hand, the beach was nice, we enjoyed the kayaks and canoe, and with the exception of the dishes and utensils (probably washed by previous guests rather than the housecleaners), the house was very clean. While I probably wouldn't rent this property again, there aren't a lot of options in the Cooperstown area, and this is probably one of the better ones.
Really enjoyed our stay! Came to spend time with extended famiy and could not have asked for a better location. The home was just as pictured; immaculate, very private and relaxing, filled with everything we needed. And the beds were so very comfortable! The lakefront is wonderful! Hours of fun jumping off the dock and swimming in the clear, refreshing lake! The kids loved the water trampoline! Truly special sunsets; a very peaceful time for a quiet paddle in the kayak. Lively board games, foosball, horseshoes and campfires kept everyone entertained! Perfect location for memorable family time!
My husband and I like to go away just after Labor day to celebrate our anniversary. In the past we would spend several days in NYC to take in a show and visit the sights. This year we wanted different, peace & quiet in a serene setting. This property is just that, especially after Labor day! It's private enough even with the proximity of the neighbors, but this time of year its even more so! It seemed like we were the only ones there! Otsego (Glimmerglass) lake is clean, clear and quiet and you have a view from either the house deck (or the small loft that we stayed in known as "The Birds nest"). Your 20 minutes away from Cooperstown village (and the Baseball Hall Of Fame) as well as some very nice golf courses. I'm sure there is some good dining (a list is provided by the owners) but we prepared our own meals. Our favorite time was using the kayaks and sitting on the boat dock looking out over the lake (some GORGEOUS sunsets). The most excitement we had was seeing an Eagle swoop in for a fresh catch! The owners are very accommodating and keep the property meticulous. The bed was very comfortable as was the whole cabin all the comforts of home. I strongly recommend if this is the kind of Get Away you're looking for.
Coming from Southern California, this was exactly the lake vacation we were hoping for! House was in excellent condition with fresh new linens including plenty of new bath towels. Amenities like kayaks, canoe, dock, great large beach with firepit and of course the water trampoline were huge highlights. Location was very peaceful and private. AT&T mobile customers beware; no signal, but Verizon is fine. Owner was super helpful, even though we really didn't need much; everything was very much as described. We'll be seeking this or one of the owners other lake properties when we return for our next two rounds of Cooperstown Dreams Park Tournament players.
The house we stayed in was very spacious and very clean!! We really enjoyed our stay!! Bill is so easy to rent from, he let us know on our trip there the roads that were closed due to th weather and emailed us places to go. The view of the lake is beautiful as well. The house was well stocked, the blankets were so comfy (my kids still talk about them) and it was great to be right on the lake!! We have rented from Bill before and we hope to be going to Cooperstown again and will definitely only rent from Bill! Thank you for an enjoyable place to stay!!!
We rent on homeaway.com and have always been extremely happy with the rentals. This property was wonderful. Unfortunately we did not get to spend so much time there. I would have liked to have rented for 2 weeks. We were back and forth to Cooperstown Dreams Park all week. That was a wonderful experience as well. This was our second time with the Dreams Park experience and never let down it is run like a dime. We did have the team swimming at this property one evening and it was simply magical!! When my son going to bed the night before leaving said it was the best week of his life I had a tear in my eye. It not only had to do with his baseball experience but the time he spent at the home as well. I wished we could have stayed on another week just enjoying this home. It was peaceful, clean, quiet, great views and full of nature. My husband and I biked or ran everyday around this home. The town was close enough to get breakfast in the morning yet the owners had the kitchen set up with a Keurig ready to go. Sometimes little things like this make a difference. The owners were available should you have a question. I would highly recommend this home. It is also great if you bring others it was like two separate areas. My husband and I had master bedroom and my mom and aunt were in other rooms. It felt completely private for all of us. A great rental property!!!
Property description far from accurate. Mattress and spring sets in each bedroom are terrible. Toilet in one bathroom inoperable. While it rained considerably during our stay, it is likely some kind of moisture issue exists, a very musty unpleasant odor most of the week. Had we purchased rental insurance,we would not have stayed from day one.
Our group of 9 women rented your home in October. We wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed staying at your house for the weekend. The house is lovely, comfortable and we did not want for anything. We were able to enjoy the fall foliage while kayaking and canoeing on the lake. Will definitely keep your home in mind for future vacations !
We stayed at this property during our recent Cooperstown Visit. The house was just what we expected based on the pictures and description on VRBO. The location was gorgeous, right on the lake and easy drive into downtown Cooperstown. We rent homes frequently while traveling and love it when a house is not cluttered with personal items, this house was not cluttered and had everything we needed and just the right personal touches to make us feel at home. One of the best things about the house is how quiet the area is.....no barking dogs, no road noise just beautiful peace and quiet....Bill was excellent to work with and gave us great directions and suggestions on what to do in the area.....!!!!
This house was a fabulous retreat for our two families of four. Our kids aged 9-13 absolutely loved the water trampoline, and we got lots of use out of the two kayaks and canoe. The adults enjoyed morning swims to the end of the little bay and back on the beautiful, clean, and usually very calm lake. We had Time Out Boat Rentals deliver a pontoon boat right to the dock for a fabulous evening cruise, and we rented a powerboat from CJ's with skis and tube that we were able to pick up at the dock 10 minutes away in town and then keep at the house all afternoon as we took turns going out. Our sons were playing baseball all the way down at Cooperstown All-Star Village which is actually 40-45 minutes away in Oneonta, but we were lucky that their schedules allowed us to sneak in some great afternoons on the lake.
Terrific rental, the pictures and descriptions on the website are true to life. LakePointe certainly is the nicest place on the lake and the best place to stay! The house is super clean and comfortable, private setting, very relaxing, and with all the amenities we needed! Our family had a great time at this lake house; the kids just loved it, they had so much fun on the water tramp and kayaking. Highly recommend for all types of “group” or “family” vacations.
Our family stayed here for the past week as our 12 year old son was participating in the weekly Cooperstown Dreams Park tournament. We had a wonderful experience all around! The house is perfect for a few reasons: conveniently located to baseball park - 9 miles, conveniently located to Main Street - 5 miles, provides lots of options to other family members not participating in the games. We brought our older 16 year old son and two grandparents. The house was a great respite from the field especially during rain. Our family took full advantage of chilling out at the house, fishing on the dock, playing horsehoes endlessly, s'mores on the fire pit, and even kayaking. Grandparents were happy to miss a rainy pool play game or two because they were eager to relax in the inviting atmosphere of the house. There was plenty of room for folks to be with the group or be on their own, Coffee on the rockers on the balcony overseeing the lake was especially awesome at all times of the day!! The best part - no surprises - everything was as it was presented to us in the preview as well as phone calls prior to finalizing our rental agreement. NOTE: the house is a bit challenging to locate on your first entry - so be sure to read the wonderful directions supplied by the owners - especially if you are arriving at night.
As described the property sits above one of the best waterfront locations on the east side of the lake. The secluded flat beach area is ideal for families to spread out and enjoy swimming, boating or just hanging out. The deck and screened inn porch provide a great view of the lake and allows for dinning and viewing memorable sun sets. The house is a cut above most summer cottages with a well equipped kitchen, good sized bedrooms and a wonderful great room. Has been rented by my family in the past with no problems and a resposive owner.
